About this commission
Head of IFSA News commission is an editor-in-chief of official IFSA publication ‘IFSA News’. His/hers job is to collect articles written by IFSA member, review and edit them, write an editorial and organize everything before printing the final version. It’s essential to know that ‘IFSA News’ should be one of the most powerful tools to share the IFSA spirit among students from all countries. Head of commission is responsible to communicate with other members of editorial board, as well as with other IFSA members and motivate them.
I work on a collaborative team with IFSA and IUFRO focused on bringing together perspectives of students, educators, and professionals on education in the forest sector.
As the Head of Web Sub-Commission my task is to do magic with IFSA website.
My role is to harness the potential of Social Media to spread the word of ifsa and strengthen the collaboration of IFSA with its partners through effective dissemination of information. My key goals for the year would be to make sure every IFSA member is aware about the opportunities and happenings in IFSA, to administrate the creation & publishing of relevant, high-quality content, and to plan and promote specific, timely social media campaigns.
This is my second year serving IFSA as Head of communications, I will use my existing experience to guide new officials in IFSA especially my fellow heads in the commission. Therefore, not only my plan for this year would be to focus on engaging more with the officials, promoting better communications on external matter will be my targets as well.
Broadly my role is to enhance the work of IFSA and partners on forest education by improving the outreach, research and focus that organizations and members spend on the topic. Within the Task Force, my role is to coordinate and organize activities of the TF, ensure that we reach our mandate and the successful completion of its 3 working packages which focus on the Global Outlook on Forest Education Study (GOFE), the Global Forest Information System (GFIS) and student training’s and capacity building sessions at IFSA and partner organized conferences.
This IFSA year I hope to create sustainable products that are editable and that last for the years to come. I will provide an efficient, engaging and clear corporate branding collection which will serve IFSA in its’ aim to be a professional but young organization. In this way I will support our motivated and passionate members.
