22nd Forestry Versatility

The international forestry students competition ;Forestry versatility; is organized by the Students´ Association of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Mendel University.

About ten, four-members, teams compete every year, just one team per university is allowed to participate. The teams compete in forestry related disciplines, where they compare their skills and forestry knowledge. These disciplines are taking place: shotgun and air rifle shooting, determination of plants, trees, insects´ galleries, minerals, forestry significant insects, wood destroying fungi, game keeping significant animals, age of animals, tracks, orienteering, forest logging, perfectness and speed cutting with chain saw and assembling the chain saw. The final discipline is forest inventory. Competition is not only great possibility to compare strengths and knowledge with other forestry students but also chance to meet new friends and cultures.

The International Forestry Students Symposium (IFSS) is the biggest IFSA event in the year. In 2008, it will gather forestry students from all over the world in Bulgaria for two weeks. During them, IFSA will have its General Assembly but also a lot of nice visits through Bulgaria, different conferences related to forest and of course a lot of fun!
