To be considered for the IUFRO writing challenge, students must submit a short piece of writing (e.g. a blog entry or short story, which demonstrates that they have a good command of the English language) in the application form. The best 5 contributions will be chosen by the IUFRO secretariat and contacted.   Some more useful information:    What does being an IFSA delegate mean? You will represent the International Forestry Students’ Association during the Conference. You need to understand the objectives of the organization and act in a responsible member. You will have the chance to network with professionals, discuss with scientists during technical sessions, learn for life and have fun with IFSA friends. IFSA will recommend an accommodation for the delegation and will organize consultation meetings every morning at the conference venue.   Who can apply to be an IFSA delegate? You need to be a member of a local committee (LC) and to be enrolled in a forestry programme (or IFSA alumni).   Will there be financial support to attend the conference? Applicants are asked to cover travel costs, registration fee and accommodation for themselves. We recommend to ask your home university and other sources in your region to support your travel. IUFRO will cover the participation fee of 5 IFSA delegates, participating in the IUFRO writing challenge.   What is the pre-congress IUFRO IFSA training?  The Joint IUFRO IFSA Task Force on Forest Education organizes a FREE pre-congress training on “forest landscape restoration” on the 23rd of October. This training gives you the opportunity to learn more about the relevant topic of FLR, learn from well-known IUFRO scientists and to get to know alternative teaching methods. Attending the training is obligatory for the IFSA delegates.   This conference is an excellent opportunity to meet researchers and professionals from YOUR region or to explore a NEW IFSA region and to LEARN more about one of your CORE PARTNER organizations.    ]]>
