Delegation to COP20 in Lima, Peru
Dear IFSA friends,
My name is Paola Coronado Werner, and I am the new head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Sub – Commission. As you may know, the UNFCCC is an international environmental treaty, with the overall objective is to prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference of the climate system. The UNFCCC hold annual meetings called the Conferences of the Parties (COP). This year, COP is going to be held in Lima, Peru, from December 1st to 12th.

With this background, IFSA sends every year a delegation to attend this event. Is important the assistance of forestry students who are involved in climate change issues and all the process during the COP. This delegation has the objective to update all IFSA members how the meeting is going on, and promote our organization through different events during these days.

Is important to say, that for this event, is difficult to have fundraising, so if you are not completely sure you can attend, don’t apply for the event. However, don’t hesitate to contact me if you need some information to stay in Lima during COP 20.
