IFSA - South European Regional Meeting (SERM) 2010Slovenian Forestry students Organization is happy to announce and invite you to the South European Regional Meeting 2010 in Slovenia. During the week we will present you Slovenian forestry and forests. You will have a great chance to spend 5 days traveling around Slovenia, and see our mountains and also karst region and other beautiful places. This is the first notice for invitation. More information about the meeting will be available here later in September. Because there is limited number of free spaces, you can already make your reservation and fill in the application form. We expect 2 students from each LC from South Europe and we also invited students from North Europe and all around the world to join us. The participation fee will be around 70 €, but we will try our best to get it lower. IREX 2010 – International River Expedition 2010The second International River Expedition (IREX 2010) is going to be a 5 days long canoe tour, which will take place along the River Körös in east Hungary. This is a unique way to experience this beautiful river and is suitable to learn more about the connection between the river, the forestry and the game management on the Great Hungarian Plane. During the trip we will visit the castle of Gyula, special nature conservation areas, the Great Bustard reserve (Otis tarda, the biggest bird of Europe), Hungarian specialties from Békés, and so on. We will sleep in camps thus own tent and sleeping bag is required. Please note that we have limited places only for 25 participants. At first 3 applicants per LC can register. First comes, first served. People beyond the limit per LC will be placed on waiting list. The remaining places (if any) will be filled from the waiting list after 1st of April.

18th Commonwealth Forestry ConferenceThe conference occurs every 5 years and brings international speakers from Commonwealth nations together to discuss forestry issues. The theme of the conference is "Restoring the Commonwealth’s Forests: Tackling Climate Change." In preparation for the conference IFSA is doing a survey about the state of forests around the world in the view of forestry students.
