APRM 2018

 APRM 2018 will be held from May 28 to June 2, 2018 at Palawan, Philippines.

The Province of Palawan is bequeathed with unique wildlife and also considered as the last frontier of the Philippines. The archipelagic island abodes high diversity of marine, freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems and the lowland tropical rainforests are the terrestrial ecosystems in Palawan which are richest in species. It is also home to various environmental programs to ensure the sustainability of the area which can be a point of discussion for the Asia Pacific Regional Meeting.

OBJECTIVES

1. To strengthen connections between forestry students of the Asia-Pacific region

2. To provide a learning experience for international forestry students that is interactive and collaborative; and

3. To promote Philippines as one of the leading countries in campaigning for climate change mitigation and adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, and Environmental Conservation and Protection

PROPONENT DESCRIPTION

UP Varrons Ltd. Is a duly recognized socio-civic organization based in the campus of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños (UPLB). It was founded on August 26, 1962 with an emphasis in the promotion of academic excellence and scholarship, the establishment of strong leadership and high standard of professionalism, the promotion of charity, and service to society. These objectives are epitomized through the guiding principles of the organization; Truth, Love, Justice, and Freedom. These are the elements that UPVL is aiming and striving for – no matter where the members are and no matter how they pursue it. UP Varrons Ltd. believes that ultimately the quality of life and happiness for every man will emanate from the pursuance of these principles — in our own little way, as an individual, as a group, as a member of society, the organization carried these principles and lived by the essence of these words.

Currently, the organization has more than a thousand members including the undergraduate, alumni and honorary members scattered worldwide pursuing different careers and interests. Most of these members are located in the Philippines. Also, three (3) other institutions were also established in accordance with the UPVL’s principles. These include UP Varrons Alumni Association, Varrons Foundation Inc., and UP Varrons International
