Run by the Student Association of the Forest and Wood Technology Faculty of Mendel University, this event will test student’s acquired forestry skills; from shooting accuracy and plant identification to appropriate chainsaw handling and forestry management knowledge. Teams will consist of four forestry students from different universities.

IFSA - South European Regional Meeting (SERM) 2010

Slovenian Forestry students Organization is happy to announce and invite you to the South European Regional Meeting 2010 in Slovenia. During the week we will present you Slovenian forestry and forests. You will have a great chance to spend 5 days traveling around Slovenia, and see our mountains and also karst region and other beautiful places.

This is the first notice for invitation. More information about the meeting will be available here later in September.

Because there is limited number of free spaces, you can already make your reservation and fill in the application form. We expect 2 students from each LC from South Europe and we also invited students from North Europe and all around the world to join us. The participation fee will be around 70 €, but we will try our best to get it lower.

18th Commonwealth Forestry Conference

The conference occurs every 5 years and brings international speakers from Commonwealth nations together to discuss forestry issues. The theme of the conference is "Restoring the Commonwealth’s Forests: Tackling Climate Change."

In preparation for the conference IFSA is doing a survey about the state of forests around the world in the view of forestry students. There will be several prices distributed to some randomly picked participants of the survey. Take part here and let CFA now what we think of forests! It only takes 5 minutes

IFISO Leadership Summer School 2010

Leadership Summer School is an amazing 7 days training event of IFISO (Informal Forum of International Student Organisations) on the topic "Leadership". 65 participants and 15 trainers from more than 15 student organizations take part in it.

This year, the third edition of the “Leadership Summer School (LSS)” will be held in Ljubljana (Slovenia).

It is a high quality leadership-training event, which will be organized by a multi-organizational team and has a truly interdisciplinary reach. Now, we are looking for motivated participants to take part in this amazing event.

IREX 2010 – International River Expedition 2010

The second International River Expedition (IREX 2010) is going to be a 5 days long canoe tour, which will take place along the River Körös in east Hungary. This is a unique way to experience this beautiful river and is suitable to learn more about the connection between the river, the forestry and the game management on the Great Hungarian Plane.

During the trip we will visit the castle of Gyula, special nature conservation areas, the Great Bustard reserve (Otis tarda, the biggest bird of Europe), Hungarian specialties from Békés, and so on. We will sleep in camps thus own tent and sleeping bag is required.

Please note that we have limited places only for 25 participants. At first 3 applicants per LC can register. First comes, first served. People beyond the limit per LC will be placed on waiting list. The remaining places (if any) will be filled from the waiting list after 1st of April.

38th International Forestry Students' Symposium (IFSS 2010)

IFSS is the IFSA Statutory Meeting. It held annually in IFSA member country. The IFSS 2010 will be held in South Korea with the theme Forest for Sustainable Society and Environment. This event will be held from 07 - 21 August 2010 and will show you wonderful places of this beautiful country.
