FAO - Food and Agricultural Organisation for the United Nations

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has a specific department in charge of forestry issues, whose mandate is to promote the sustainable use of forest resources around the world. The Forestry Department aims to contribute to overcoming the barriers to sustainable forest management by providing adequate and reliable information, strengthen technical capacities and offering policy advice.

The global forest statistics, the magazine "Unasylva" and the numerous databases FAO provides are quite useful tools for forest students.
