IFSA 40 Stories

Story of “IFSA 40 Stories

IFSS-International Forestry Students’ Symposium has always been the most important annual event for IFSA. This year, 2012, will be the 40th birthday of IFSS in Turkey. For this reason, we want to celebrate 40th IFSS by collecting the stories of IFSA, the stories of YOU, into the booklet “IFSA 40 Stories”.

What stories should be shared?

Your IFSA stories which were happened in past IFSA events. How, when and where was it happened?

Was there any structure change or IFSA milestones you have experienced? Share us how IFSA had changed you, or your career development after "graduating" from IFSA.

“IFSA 40 Stories” will select the best 40 stories from this blog to the booklet at 30th of June, 2012. We give the preference to the stories with higher rating and pictures attached. We also prefer the stories with less than 1,000 words due to the limitation of page size. A tip, the earlier you share your stories, the bigger chance they will be selected to the booklet.)

Besides your stories, we are also looking for your support. Simply share the link: IFSA 40 Stories to your IFSA friends. Joining editor group of “IFSA 40 Stories”, or donating to “IFSA 40 Stories”, would ensure the success of this project. Tell us the IFSA events you have joined in IFSA Event list: FORM

For further information, you can contact the project coordinator, Ping-Lian Wu ([email protected]).

Thanks to FAO support 19 students representing the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) were able to attend to the  Committee on Forests (COFO) and World Forest Week (WFW) 2012. Attending COFO and WFW 2012 was very important for students as it allowed them to identify and get up to date in the most pressing issues facing the forestry sector.

The story I want to tell you starts when, from an idea used during the IUFRO World Congress in 2010 in Seoul, South Korea, we drew, together with members from the LC BOKU, Austria, the IFSA tree with its birds and surrounding trees on a big white poster in order to create an interactive presentation of the IFSA structure and of its missions.
