Description: For several years, the International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO), as one of IFSA’s partners, has been offering an internship opportunity to students from IFSA Local Committees. Each year, one (maximum two) student(s), has the opportunity to work at the IUFRO headquarters in Vienna for approximately two months, assisting with diverse projects within IUFRO and getting an insight into the work of an international organisation. This year, IUFRO has offered us one internship spot for approx. two months during the time period between October and Christmas/late December. That means the exact timeframe of the internship can be decided on in consultation with IUFRO once the intern has been selected, but it definitely has to be within the given time period. The tasks of the student intern mostly consist of office work, such as assisting with the preparation of reports, updating of databases and translation of documents. IFSA is able to support the intern with a stipend to partially cover the subsistence costs in Vienna. The successful applicant will be informed about the exact amount upon being notified of acceptance. The intern will be stationed at the IUFRO HQ at Marxergasse 2, Vienna, Austria. Application requirements: In order to apply for this years‘ internship, the following documents should be sent to iufro.lo@ifsa.net until April 30 2018 at 11:59 pm CET (please note that only students  who are currently enrolled in university and are members of an official IFSA Local Committee (LC) can apply):

  • motivation letter
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • letter from LC president confirming that applicant is currently an LC member
  • one academic reference (e.g. from a professor or supervisor)
  • certification of enrolment (copy of valid student ID or similar)
