Outcomes of WFC 2015 – Students’ reports

Dear IFSA World,

Attached please find the reports of the World Forestry Congress 2015, which was held in Durban, South Africa.

Here is a short overview of the reports:

Report #1 is written by the IFSA Delegation. They have written about the background of the conference and how IFSA participated in the conference. They also give impressions of the events they have attended (High-level dialogue- “Forest are vital for implementing the post-2005 developing agenda”; IFSA side events; Renewal of the MoU with FAO) and some feedback by the delegates. They conclude the report by describing the outcomes and make recommendations for future IFSA delegations and involvement.

Report #2 is written by African students (from Stellenbosch University) They have written more like an overview and brief content of the events where they were present and .They have covered more events than only IFSA-IUFRO joint events (e.g. Forest and Water Dialogue + follow-up event, opening session of WFC, IUFRO WFSE side event, Directors’ Forum side event and IUFRO main side event).
