The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is a non-profit, scientific institution that conducts research on the most pressing challenges of forest and landscape management around the world.

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is a membership-based forest research organization with a special focus on forest policy.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that as the primary goal has to eradicate the world’s hunger and improve nutrition and food security. The Forestry Department of FAO works on sustainable management of the world’s forests which are playing a vital role in achieving the ultimate goals.

FOREST EUROPE is the pan-European voluntary high-level political process for dialogue and cooperation on forest policies in Europe. FOREST EUROPE develops common strategies for its signatories on how to protect and sustainably manage their forests.

Global Peatlands Initiative (GPI) is an effort by leading experts and institutions to save peatlands as the world’s largest terrestrial organic carbon stock and to prevent it from being emitted into the atmosphere.

International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) is an intergovernmental organization promoting the sustainable management and conservation of tropical forests. Furthermore, they are working on the expansion and diversification of international trade in tropical timber from sustainably managed and legally harvested forests.

International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is one of the largest environmental organizations in the world. It is known for producing the Red List of Threatened Species and for being one of the most influential stakeholders in the environmental sector.

International Union for Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests and trees.

The Center for People and Forests (RECOFTC) is a Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and Pacific that enhances capacities for stronger rights, improved governance and fairer benefits for local people in sustainable forest landscapes.

The Forest Dialogue (TFD) is a platform that focuses on sustainable forest management and forest conservation. It assists multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests in communication and finding common ground.

The UN Convention of Biological Diversity (UNCBD) was formed in 1992 signed by 196 parties for promoting conservation, sustainable use and fair sharing of utilization derived from biodiversity.

UN Environment (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, hosting several environmental conventions, secretariats and inter-agency coordinating bodies.

UNFCCC is the climate change process of the United Nations. Its biggest yearly event is the Conference of the Parties, where nations of the world discuss measures to take on climate change.

The UNFF is an international body to accelerate the adoption of Sustainable Forest Management. As Major Group focal point, IFSA collaborates with the UNFF Secretariat, member states, the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) and other relevant stakeholders in order to bring the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forest (UNSPF) to life.

The World Food Forum (WFF) is an independent global network of partners, created for and led by youth, to spark a movement to transform our agri-food systems and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including “Zero Hunger”.

The Youth In Landscapes Initiative (YIL) is a partnership between a variety of youth organizations. Founded in 2013, it advocates for a cross-sectoral thinking, youth capacity building and intercultural understanding.

IFSA Peer Organizations

EGEA stands for European Geography Association for students and young geographers. It is a network uniting around 5000 geography students and young geographers from almost 75 entities in more than 30 countries across Europe.
IAAS stands for International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences. It is the biggest student organization in the field of agriculture and related sciences worldwide with about 50  member coutries and 10,000 students.

IFISO is a platform of 28 international student organisations, covering around 22 million students around the globe. It aims to support and improve international student organisations through networking, cooperation, and sharing knowledge and best practices.

The SAN, the IFSA Supporter and Alumni Network, is a non-profit association that aims to bring together people, institutions and IFSA Alumni to support youth in forest and environmental sciences and respective policy processes.
