At every IUFRO world congress IUFRO recognizes special scientific performances and achievements through selected IUFRO Awards. Among these awards is the IUFRO Student Award for Excellence in Forest Sciences (ISA)

Up to three ISAs can be awarded, depending on the number and strength of nominations. The award(s) is to recognize outstanding individual achievements related to the main theme and sub-themes of the IUFRO World Congress made by Master’s degree students (or equivalent), and to encourage their further work within the fields of research covered by the Union.
