IFSA’s UNFCCC Sub-commission is happy to announce that the application period for COP25 is now open! The open call will close on 31 August 2019.

Update: deadline has been postponed to the 15th of September 2019

The UNFCCC objective is to “stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system”. For more information about the event, please visit the website (https://www.cop25.cl/web/en/). You can also follow this link for more info about the UNFCCC process (http://unfccc.int/files/essential_background/background_publications_htmlpdf/application/pdf/conveng.pdf) or read this Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Climate_Change_conference).

The 25th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Santiago, Chile, from 2-13 December 2019. The most important task at hand during this event is to work out and adapt decisions to implement the Paris Agreement, in regard to the decisions made in Paris during COP21.

IFSA, as a registered NGO, has observer status and will send a delegation of lucky individuals. We are looking for dynamic people to engage, participate and report on this world class event. We are looking for a diverse group of individuals (level of education, field of study, gender, region, etc.) that can contribute in their own way to the delegation. When filling out the application form, let us know what you think you can bring to the team (for example: leadership, good written skills, understanding of international negotiations, social media presence, experience, etc.). In other words, tell us how unique you are 🙂
