United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF), is the premier forests and forestry body of the UN. It’s objective is to deliver ‘… the management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests and to strengthen long-term political commitment to this end…  It’s based on the Rio Declaration, the Forest Principles, Chapter 11 of Agenda 21 and and other key milestones of international forest policy. IFSA is the Focal Point for the Major Group for Children and Youth in the UNFF. The two focal points are responsible for engaging with children and youth across the world to deliver coherent and constructive messages to the UNFF as a means to generate meaningful change and accelerated progress towards sustainability. UNFF MGCY, elevates itself outside the role of IFSA to be truly representative and deliver stark reminders on where we need to go with local, regional and global forestry policies and programs.
