// German version see below.   [EN] Dear IFSA members, It is time for the XIII. International Junior Forest Contest! The contest will take place from 4.-9. September in St. Petersburg, Russia. This open call is addressed to all German students of forest and related sciences that are not older than 22 years at the happening of the event. All costs are covered, such as flight, accomondation, meals and excursions. A German member of the electing committee of the contest will join you for the trip. Main goals of the contest are to support collegiate studies in forestry, wildlife and natural resources and to give young students a chance to meet and exchange their experiences in an international context. During the contest, you will have to present your topic (wether Bachelor thesis or project study) in 10-15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes time for questions from the audience. Topic can be anything related to forestry and related sciences! More information on the rules of the contest and the program in Russia can be found behind the links. International Junior Forest Contest steht an! Stattfinden wird der Wettbewerb vom 4.-9. September in St. Petersburg, Russland. Teilnehmen an dieser “Vorauswahl” können alle deutschen Studenten der Forstwissenschaften und vergleichbarer Fächer, die zum Zeitpunkt des Wettbewerbs nicht älter als 22 Jahre sind. Alle Kosten (Flug, Unterbringung, Verpflegung, Ausflüge) werden getragen! Ein deutsches Jury-Mitglied wird die Reise begleiten. Ziele des Wettbewerbs sind die Förderung studentischer Initiative in Naturschutz und Renaturierung von natürlichen Ressourcen auf lokaler und globaler Ebene, die Förderung studentischer Interessen in der Forschung von nachhaltiger Forstwirtschaft, Ressourcennutzung und Umweltwissenschaften, sowie die Unterstützung junger Studenten im Rahmen des internationalen und interkulturellen Austauschs. Im Wettbewerb müsst ihr euer Thema (ob Bachelorarbeit oder Projektstudie) in 10-15 Minuten auf Englisch präsentieren, nachfolgend sind 5 Minuten Zeit für Nachfragen. Themen können beispielsweise handeln von Forstwissenschaften wie Waldbau, Renaturierung, Plantagen oder Feuerökologie. Aber auch Wildtierökologie wie Verhaltensökologie, Wildtierkrankheiten oder allgemeine Ökologie können Thema sein. Auch Botanik als Thema ist zulässig.
